TALK TO ME

The exhibition TALK TO ME by Julia Haugeneder and Magdalena Kreinecker is an invitation to conversation: with the exhibited works as a starting point for shared imaginations, with us, with the Kunstverein, but also an invitation to revive the (ambivalent) method of Consciousness Raising (CR). Our works and the exhibition were developed in dialogue with each other, in exchange with Christian Thöner, and through conversations with many colleagues.
Some works, such as the linocut that gives the exhibition its title or the three films, explore the emancipatory potential that can be unleashed through conversations about emotions, thus creating possible distance from reified conditions. Other works open up spaces of imagination that can serve as a starting point for questions concerning connections between individual experience and structural conditions.
